Throughout my life, I have had many, what I would call gentle nudges to keep an open and inquisitive mind about our world.

My first experience with alternative medicine came in my late 20’s when I was having difficulty conceiving. The conventional answers were to pump me full of drugs. With meditation and Ayurvedic Medicine I was able to become a mother.

After having 2 healthy, amazing children my health took an ugly turn. With the diagnosis of a rare genetic condition, I have had several surgeries, was placed on 5 prescription medications, had 4 specialists involved in my care, and more looming surgeries, with no end in sight.

I knew there had to be a better way than to keep operating and taking prescription medications. With no cure for my disease, I began doing my own research. Through trial and error, I have found what works and what doesn’t for my body.

Since finding alternative medicine, adopting a plant-based lifestyle, having a daily meditation routine, and personal yoga practice, I have been able to stop taking 3 of my prescriptions and avoid the operating room altogether.

Of course, I believe in Western Medicine. However, I don’t believe they hold all of the answers. The Integrative approach, where eastern meets western medicine, not only makes sense to me but I believe it has given me back my health, which is everything to me.

This is where my passion for holistic medicine stems from. I know first hand how hopeless it feels when you think you have reached a dead end. There are so many more options out there than most realize. If I can help even one person get their life back, like I did, it would mean the world to me.
